| Archaeologist Ability Level | The combination of archaeologist rank and archaeology tech level of his realm.
(Each star of rank = 1 search level, bars do not increase search) |
| Artifact Archaeological Rating | The minimum ability level required to find the artifact. |
| Artifact Type | The general area the bonus applies to. |
| Artifact Category | Some types have categories, these indicate a specific area for the bonus. |
| Artifact Grade | The value of the bonus the artifact gives to the owner. |
| Flotsam & Jetsam Notes | |

| Debris | This item has a scrap value, which may be more or less than the cargo space it needs. |
| Lifeboats | These keep refugees or crews alive for a limited amount of time. |
| Escape Pods | These keep an official alive for a limited amount of time. |
| Ore Containers | These require offloading at a starbase to gain the mineral. |

| Tribbles | These cute guys sometimes sneak aboard with other flotsam.
There is no known way to expel tribbles. It is rumoured that they leave on their own eventually. One must be careful not to let the infestation spread. More info |
